Studies on National Movements (SNM) is an international online and peer-reveiwed journal, devoted to the comparative historiography of national and regional movements in Europe and the theory formation of nationalism. The journal focuses on comparative, transnational and transfer studies, with special attention to non-English language theoretical works and case studies, as well as to heuristic and archival matters. Multidisciplinary in approach, SNM's scope includes history, political science, sociology, geography and cultural studies.
SNM is published, once a year, by NISE, the platform for scholars as well as research and heritage institutes. The journal has an editorial board, consisting of renowned experts in nationalism studies. The board appoints referees in a double-blind peer-review procedure. All contributions should be original and in accordance with scientific methodology. Copy editing is taken care of by the NISE Coordination Centre.
SNM provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
